Cap48 is Belgium’s most famous charity, which dedicates itself to the integration of disabled people in order to open the public’s mind and change views on disability.
For the 8th of June, which is Father’s Day in Belgium, Cap48 asked 50 kids to make a drawing of their dads (25 kids had an able father, the other half had a disabled father). A dozen of these artworks were selected to feature in a television commercial, which began with the simple phrase: Spot the disabled dad.
By lining the drawings up one after the other, Cap48 came to an interesting conclusion: when we look at the drawings our children make of us, we all seem to have some kind of physical problem. But how the kids see it, as should adults, is that, whether disabled or not, there isn’t really any difference at all. We all love our dads equally.
